Mount Lawu is indeed one of the most famous mountains, especially among lovers of travelers and lovers of mountain climbing sports. This mountain is one type of mountain that is no longer active. This mountain last erupted around the year 85 - precisely on October 28, 1985, where the result of the eruption caused rain of ash around the provinised area of ​​Central Java and East Java. Mount Lawu is located in the province of Central Java, precisely in Karanganyar Regency, about 1 hour from the direction of the city of Solo (Surakarta). This mountain is located on the border of three districts at once, namely Karanganyar Regency (Central Java), Ngawi Regency (East Java), and Magetan Regency (East Java).

Even though the status is inactive, this mountain peak still has a small crater that still emits water vapor (Funnarol) and sulfur (Solfatara). The arrangement of Mount Lawu has three peak parts, namely the Peak of Hargo Dalem, Puncak Hargo Dumiling, and the highest peak of this mountain is called Puncak Hargo Dumilah. In addition, the Mountain area also has several well-known forests, namely the Dipterokrap Hill Forest, Upper Decteropkap Forest, Montane Forest, and Ericacaous Forest.

Your first climb must start from Cemoro Sewu. In this place you will pass two springs namely Panguripan and Sendang Drajad which are located in post 1. The road that you have to pass is better than passing Cemoro Kandang

Peak of Mount Lawu
Mount Lawu has three peaks, Hargo Dumiling Peak Hargo Dalem, and Hargo Dumilah. The summit of Hargo dumillah is the highest peak with an altitude of around 3. 265 masl.
